Heavy rainfall and strong storms will develop over the Middle East today and Friday as a strong piece of energy pushes through the region. This system, currently over Africa, will move northward and strengthen over south-central Saudi Arabia tonight. Through Friday night, the storms will move into southern Iran.

Drenching rainfall will create flash flooding across the region. Also, strong thunderstorms contained within the system could create gusty winds. Most of these areas will begin to dry out again for the weekend.
